The 5-Minute Morning Skincare Routine for Busy Women

You don’t need a ten-step routine or a shelf full of products to take good care of your skin. A few effective steps done consistently beat an elaborate routine you never have time for. Here’s a five-minute morning routine that covers what your skin actually needs.

Step 1: Cleanse

Start with a gentle cleanser to remove oil and residue from overnight. In the morning a mild, hydrating cleanser is usually all you need, save the deeper cleansing for evening.

Step 2: Treat with vitamin C

A vitamin C serum brightens your complexion and helps protect against daily environmental damage. A few drops pressed into the skin is plenty.

Step 3: Moisturize

Lock in hydration with a moisturizer suited to your skin type, lightweight for oily skin, richer for dry. Don’t skip it even if your skin feels oily, well-hydrated skin actually produces less excess oil.

Step 4: Protect with SPF

This is the non-negotiable step. Daily sunscreen is the single most effective thing you can do to keep skin healthy and youthful. Use at least SPF 30 every morning, rain or shine.

The secret is consistency

The most effective routine is the one you’ll actually do every day. These four steps take five minutes and deliver real results over time. Once they’re a habit, you can add extras like eye cream or weekly exfoliation.
